Happy November- My Goals For the Month

I can’t believe it is already November!  2010 has flown by!  I am excited for the changing of the seasons…. well, okay…. here in AZ I’m just excited for temperatures under 100 degrees and a yellow leaf here or there.  I’m excited for what the next couple of months will bring.  Hopefully, great things and wonderful changes for my family and great things for my photography business, too.

The summers in Phoenix are SOO hot, and often an unmotivating time for me.  I am determined to meet more goals and accomplish things that I set out to do this month.  Melissa Jill  said at the last PUG Meeting I attended in October, “I’ve heard that people who write down their goals make 9 times more money over the course of their lifetimes than those who don’t. I’m guessing that’s because people who write down their goals actually accomplish 9 times as much over the course of their lives than those who don’t. And the money is just a side effect of productivity”.   I definitely want to be more productive and I definitely want to make more money!

MY GOALS FOR NOVEMBER

1.  Go to the gym/workout 3-4 times a week.

Okay, so I’ve been totally slacking in this area.  It’s so hard for me to get to the gym during the week.  I pick up Ava and usually get home around 5:30 or later.  It’s hard for me to go back out and put her in the gym daycare after she’s been at daycare for the past 10 hours:(  Mommy Guilt at it’s best…  But I am a such happier, more energetic person when I am able to get to the gym.  I’ve always been a person who worked out AT LEAST 5 times a week and since I’ve had Ava (and especially since she has gotten older), going to the gym has fallen on my TO DO list of priorities.  Along with many other things that I used to do for myself…  I remember thinking before I had children (and became a single mom!) that I would never be one of those mothers who put their children before all of their own needs and neglect myself in the process.  But that is exactly what I’ve become!  I love my daughter with all of my heart and soul, but definitely need to put more time (alot more time) into taking care of myself and doing things for me.  I plan to go to the gym, workout at home, or take Ava for a walk at least 3-4 times a week in November.

2.  Take Ava to the park to play (without chasing her around with my camera the entire time).

*See #1 for explanation of our time restraints.  But play is important and I intend to make it more of a priority in November.

3.  Try a new recipe and cook a dinner for Matt.

I have a confession to make… I really hate to cook and rarely do.  My goal this month is to try something new and make Matt dinner one of these weekends…

4.  Host Holiday Mini-Sessions during the month of November.

I’d like to offer my friends and clients Holiday Mini-Sessions so that they can have the opportunity to have some beautiful portraits of their family/children for holiday cards or to give as gifts.  If anyone has a particular weekend in mind, please email me at kldepew@yahoo.com

5.  Throw Andrea a bridal shower.

Enough said.:)

6.  Order a print or canvas for my wall.

7.  Get a haircut.

This is terrible, but I haven’t gone to the salon in probably over a year.  I desperately need my haircut!  See #1 for excuses of why I haven’t taken the time for myself to have it done.

8.  Get a pedicure.

Haven’t had one of these in over a year either!  See #1 again…

Excited to accomplish all of the goals on my list.  Will be back at the end of the month to record my results.  What are YOUR goals for the month of November?
