I am participating in a fabulous new project called “The Way I View ____” with 12 other CMpro photographers from Clickinmoms. I am so honored to be a part of Clickinmoms- it’s such an amazing place of support, education and friendship.
I am so excited for this project and look forward to the months ahead and for this to give me an opportunity to shoot for “me”.
And of course, some thoughtful reflection about my photography wouldn’t hurt either.
Here is my “New Beginnings” photo for the month of February.

Meet my sneakers.
They are some old friends of mine… the kind of friends you can be yourself with, the ones that bring you comfort, joy and just make you feel good when you hang out with them.
These old friends of mine have been hiding and I haven’t spent much time with them lately…
Well, if I’m totally honest here, actually I haven’t spent much time with them at all…
in a long time.
But that’s where the “new beginnings” part comes in…
See, I have been missing these guys and have decided that I am going to devote this month to spending more time with them. At the gym, going for walks and they might even help me bust out my old Reebok step and step aerobics tape. Yep, a VHS tape… another old friend who hasn’t been out to play in a very, very long time.
I am a full-time literacy facilitator at my school. I get to work with K-5th grade teachers and students all day- reading, writing and immersing myself in the new Common Core State Standards.
I also get to do another job that I also LOVE. Capture moments and turn them into memories for my photography clients. Being behind the camera for me brings me a sense of love, fulfillment and accomplishment that I’ve never known before.
And I get to teach post-processing workshops with my good friend Rachel with Digital Darkroom Secrets.
So as you can see, working that many hours each week doesn’t leave much time for friends… but I’m bound and determined to change that.
Hello old friends… I’ve missed you. Here’s to new beginnings and rekindling our friendship…
